Twilight Discussion

Okay LADIES.... and a few gentlemen... LET'S TALK. What did you think of the movie??

I know I am not the only one who was disappointed in the casting. But what do you think now that you have seen the movie? I think the casting was pretty right on. Edward looked a little different in my head, but we all knew they couldn't find the perfect Edward anyway, he doesn't exist. Except in our heads. There were a few parts that made me roll my eyes. But I won't lie. I giggled a few times. Just not as loud as the girl sitting next to me. And in front of me. And behind me. There was a lot of giggling going on.

Did this movie make you giggle? Did it make you wish your husband could run really fast and protect you with his bare hands?

That brings me to a whole new subject. Porn for women. My sister bought me the first book in the Twilight series when it first came out. I read the back, rolled my eyes and put it on a shelf. (Sorry Em. In my defence, I get a lot of crazy books as presents because I like to read.) A few weeks later I was out of new material, so I decided to give Twilight a try. And then I had to WAIT for the second one to come out. It was horrible. Anyway, I know all of you ladies out there who have read these books, just couldn't put them down and probably read each book in a few days or less, right? And did it make you long for someone to love you the way that Edward loves Bella? I won't go into detail as it would be an inappropriate conversation for my blog. But women don't want the same things as men, we are all aware of that. The things that women want are found in Twilight and it's sequels. Reading things like this, make us a teensy bit wistful as we go back to our normal everyday lives. That is why I call it porn for women. What do you think? A little too strong of a comparison?

Let's talk....

(I'm not sure why the text is so GIANT, but it can't be fixed)

I agree that at first I was pretty disappointed with the casting for Twilight, but when I went and saw the movie I found that they were both pretty awesome as Bella and Edward. The movie made me really happy and I didn't want it to end! I was proud of them for staying so close to the book. That doesn't happen very much these days!

I enjoyed the movie, I felt a new connection with a few characters I didn't really like in the book like...Charlie (loved him!) Jasper, all the high school kids.

I didn't like the ending shots, the TO BE CONTINUESNESS of it, I also felt a bit silly during the diamond skin baring part, the music made me cringe and then all the laying around staring at each other...not me.

I don't really consider this book "porn for women" because it made me feel romantic towards Darin. All good love stories are a perk for Darin. It's hard for me to let go of "mommyworld" but stories like Twilight get me to separate from my mommyness and I can be a wife again...if that makes sense. Love stories bring me closer to my hubby, and although I am not an expert, porn seems to disconnect people from their loved ones in a selfish way.

I have mixed feelings about the movie. I loved the book. I guess I pictured the characters different mainly Edward. I was dissapointed in him, he was made out to be such much more then he was but I guess how can you find someone so perfect its not real. I didn't think they were too romantic in the movie. They hardly kissed what's up with that I know its PG 13 but come on the book makes him out to be so romantic. Also I think they went way to fast and left a lot out. It could have been a little longer and more things put in. Overall I will buy the movie.

I didn't like Robert as Edward at first, because it just didn't seem like how I had imagined him. Also in a lot of the previews I thought that the acting was bad, but then I saw the movie and it seemed to work a lot better. Robert was perfect and the acting was pretty good. I am just sad that we have to wait awhile for the next one.

I loved it! I think it captured "high school" love. I mean really, i thought all the guys I dated in High School were super strong and amazing. (now I realize how stupid I was....Nick?) Anywho, I giggled and cried and laughed. I loved all the actors and loved the baseball stuff. Very cool.

The casting grew on me except Jasper could have been stronger and hotter and less like he was about to crap his pants. But, I did giggle and hollered and whistled when edward came speeding around the corner in his volvo to save bella from the creeps... ::Sigh::

I loved the movie!
Sure, Jasper's hair was weird & Rob's accent was a bit off at times, but hey. I still enjoyed it.
I think Austin benefits from my chick flick movies/books since I become all glassy-eyed & hopped up on hormones. I'll say no more.
