open letter to my wife

My wife is a very special women. Like so many wonderful people she gets very little recognition for all that she is and does. Mostly because her husband gives her so little credit for her wonderful contributions. She is my best friend and has the ability to make everyone feel special. She is talented in so many ways. Her photography is fantastic. Her dedication to her children is unsurpassed. Her mind is incredibly creative and she makes me laugh almost every day. She makes me feel important and is very perceptive of the feelings of those around her. She asks for so little in life. If Suzy were to spend any amount of money you can be sure that the majority of that would be spent on her husband, her children or those she finds herself thinking about at that moment. She finds joy in other peoples success. When she is down she goes out of her way to do something nice for someone else because it makes her happy. I am blessed to have her in my life.

this evening we were part of an inner beauty pageant at our church which highlighted the inner qualities of the young women in our ward. Suzy was the host of the evening and I was very proud of her. she has a hard time getting up in front of a crowd and was very nervous. She was fantastic. as many of you know who read this blog she is hilarious and did not disappoint. the parents of the girls where asked to write a short description of their children. this inspired me to do the same for Suzy.

I chose to post it hear because I think that this public forum will both embarrass her and give any of you who know my wife to leave her a comment about what you most admire most about her. I think that this would really help her realize how special she is and every one likes to feel special.

thank you,

Joey

I like Suzy because she is laid back and easy to hang out with. She is always willing to do pretty much anything, even if it is not her thing. She is probably the easiest person to get along with that I know.

Ahh....young love... I ditto lori's and joey's comments. I love Suzy because she allows others to be their real self, without feeling like they need to apologize for it.

Suzy, You are so fun. You're a great writer and Photojournalist and I enjoy the little bit of sunshine you bring to my day. . . or maybe your children's antics do the trick, but you are the medium. Love you cousin! Sarah

I have to say that your Mom got it exactly right, although you do talk down to me sometimes. I would add your romantic heart and love of cats, your testimony and sweeet nature. We love you.
You should have posted a pic of yourself in your prom dress with your garments down to the elbows. It was very modest.

What a sweet letter! Suzy, Suzy, Suzy... where do I begin? You are just an awesome person. You have always been so forgiving and although we don't talk a lot, you have always been a constant in my life. I think of the GREAT times we had together and everything you helped me through and am eternally grateful. I know that even if we haven't talked for 6 months I can call you and we can start where we left off. I miss you like crazy and love you to pieces.

For a minute there I wondered if you had gotten re-married or I thought maybe I had just clicked on the wrong blog....no, just kiddin', you guys are pretty darn great. You both have the most amazing mothers (no, the whole family for that matter) Congrats on your wonderful night Suzy, wish all of your YW leaders could have been there to feel proud with your sweet husband. Give Joey a smack up side the head for me, haven't got to do that for way too long....miss you guys! Rita

That really is so sweet! Don't you love it when husbands write nice stuff about us? You are an awesome cousin and I really look up to you. I wish I got to see you more often, but at least we can keep in touch through the internet! :)

Very romantic, Joey! Good Job! Okay, here's what I love about you, Suzy: Your sense of humor is wonderful and I always know I'll get a free laugh when I read your blog. Your outlook on life and mothering is very similar to mine and it brings back a lot of fun memories of when I was a young mother with little ones around me all day. Also, I am amazed at your photography talents - you have a "good eye" for what is beautiful. Love you, Aunt Elaine

This was so lovely! Thanks, Joey -- very sweet.

Suzy is a great friend. Even though we haven't seen each other in, I think, 14 years, we've still always managed to keep in touch. That is pretty remarkable. I have other friends who are not able to do that and it sucks.

Some of my fondest (and also some of my most disturbing, but that's okay) memories of elementary school include Suzy. We had some great times. :)

I'm so glad to be able to keep in touch now through our blogs and share some of our lives with each other again. I know I'll always get a laugh from reading this blog.

Also, Suzy is so creative and talented. And basically is just the awesomest.

Well, I won't even try to top what has already been said but you need a brothers opinion. I think you are a great sister who has always cared so much about the lives of her younger brothers. You inspired me to be a reading bug and I can never repay you for that.
You were always kind and I am eternally greatful.
